Mithilesh Shukla, played by Rajpal Yadav works as a librarian in Lucknow. He is short in height and thus uncomfortable about his looks and is mostly awkward. His family urges him to travel to Bareilly to see a prospective bride. On reaching there he is introduced to the beautiful Veena. They both like each other and decide to get married. He introduces her to the rest of the family and they have a grand wedding. She then comes to stay with Mithilesh. However, he finds people staring and mocking them when seen in public, due to their height difference. He seems to get annoyed and assumes that people are passing rude remarks. He thus makes excuses in being seen in public with his wife.
Just when things seemed to be going ok for the married couple, Aakash, played by Kay Kay Menon, an old friend of Veena, moves in next door. Mithilesh is jealous of his tall stature and good looks. He slowly suspects his wife of having an affair with Aakash. Things go horribly wrong when at a romantic dinner, Mithilesh accuses his wife of seeing Aakash in his absence. This breaks Veena’s heart and she goes back to Bareilly. Realizing his mistake after a few months, Mithilesh goes to apologize to Veena. She tells him that she is pregnant and has forgiven him.
The movie is directed by Chandan Arora and produced by Ronnie Screwvala. The music is composed by Rajendra Shiv, Sanjay Jaipurwale and Mohit Chauhan.
