Majboor is a 1974 crime thriller film directed by Ravi Tandon . The film features Amitabh Bachchan, Parveen Babi, Madan Puri, Rehman and Farida Jalal.
A remake of the film released in Telugu is a story of Ravi Khanna (Amitabh Bachchan) who is living with his widowed mother and a wheelchair bounded sister ( Farida Jalal) . Ravi Khanna comes to know that he has only 6 months to live and is terminally ill and in his effort to provide everything for his mother and sister, he takes on the responsibility of a murder that he has not committed to collect the ransom money offered for Rs. 5,00,000. He decides to leave a trail for the police to enable them to nab him and thus get the ransom amount for his family after he is convicted. In the prison he is badly attacked and lands in a hospital where he is successfully operated and is now fully recovered. However, he is now the criminal who planted this blame on himself for the ransom money. He runs away from the hospital in search of the real murderer. He seeks help from a thief named Micheal D’Souza(Pran). After a series of twists and turns in the storyline, the plot unfolds revealing the real criminal, while Ravi Khanna walks out as a free man.
