Vijay comes from a wealthy household while Gayatri is from a middle class background. They both fall in love and get married. A few days after the wedding Gayatri is shocked to know that her new husband is an atheist and thus so many strange events took place leading up to the wedding. Even on the wedding night, Gayatri was shocked to see his behavior becoming very lusty and he had no interest in her feelings but he just wanted to have his way with her. His entire family is shocked to see this side of Vijay and call a tantric as they belive that he is possessed by a demon. When the tantric comes he indeed reveals that his body has been possessed by a girl named Kamini who Vijay once has an affair but refused to marry. As a result of his behavior she killed herself and is now back to take revenge and make his life a living hell. The film is directed by B Vijay and produced by Ravi Kumar. The music is composed by R D Burman. The star cast includes Anant Nag, Prema Narayan, Rekha, Jagdeep, Madan Puri, Om shivpuri, Keshto Mukherji, Chand Usmani, Meena T and Jayshree T.
