Satyaveer Singh, played by Abhay Deol is an aspiring writer who has written a novel called Manorama, which didn’t seem to do so well. He is now working as a public works engineer and married to Nimmi, played by Gul Panag, who is always nagging and complaining how she wished she was married to a rich man, etc. They also have a young son. One day a woman comes to their house claiming to be P.P Rathore’s wife, who is the irrigation minister. She praises Satyaveer’s novel and asks him to spy on her husband as she suspects he’s having an affair.

Satyaveer takes up the job in spite of his wife’s disapproval. He goes to Rathore’s house and sees another woman visiting him so he takes pictures and gives them to Mrs Rathore. His friend Brij, played by Vinay Pathak tells him something is fishy and they later find out that the lady who met him isn’t the real Mrs. Rathore. He sees the woman running from goons one day and she tells him that her name is actually Manorama. Next day they hear the news that she has committed suicide due to a protest against a canal being built by P.P Rathore.

Later Satyaveer learns that the woman is the illegitimate daughter of Rathore. But he refuses to accept her. Later it is learned that Rathore has lung caner and has little time left. He finally accepts the girl as his daughter and the heir to his vast property. The movie is directed by Navdeep Singh and produced by Ketan Maroo. The music is composed by Jayesh Gandhi and Raiomond Mirza.
