Rai Bahadur Pratap is a wealthy man who lives a lavish lifestyle with his only son. He wants his son to marry someone of the same stature. However his son disappoints him when he tells Pratap that he would like to marry a girl from a poor upbringing. A furious Pratap asks his son to leave the house. His son goes ahead to marry his love. Years later Pratap gets the news that his son is dead and his daughter-in-law is killed but his grandson is living in a slum with a thief. Rai Bahadur wastes no time to get his grandson back and is delighted to see him but his grandson Guddu has no love or respect for him.
The film is directed and produced by Rahul Rawali. The music is composed by Laxmikant Pyarela and the story is written by Salim Khan. The star cast includes Dharmendra, Dimple Kapadia, Anupam Kher,Shammi Kapoor,Shakti Kapoor,Prem Chopra, Amrish Puri, Sharat Saxena and Master Ashutosh Thakur.
