In the small town of Mallukot, Harry, played by Shahid Kapoor is a mischievous and energetic boy who has no care in the world. He has many friends and spends his days goofing around with them. A local girl Rajjo, played by Aditi Sharma has a huge crush on him but he ignores all her advances.
Aayat, played by Sonam Kapoor is from Kashmir and comes to Mallukot with her aunt when violence takes over their town. There she meets Harry who on first sight is besotted by her beauty and charm. He befriends her and after initial reluctance she too starts to like him. They soon learn of the Babri Masjid demolition and Aayat is forced to leave Mallukot with her family for Mumbai.
She leaves without informing anyone, not even Harry. He is deeply traumatized on hearing her departure and doesn’t know where to find her. Meanwhile, he gets selected in the Indian Air Force and leaves his hometown.
Harry meets Aayat after a few years in Edinburg and they start getting close again, but Harry gets a call of duty due to the Mumbai bombings of 1993 and they lose touch again. As fate has it they meet again years later and whether they will unite forever or not is the climax of this story.
Mausam is directed by Pankaj Kapur and produced by Madhu Mantena and Sheetal Vinod Talwar. The melodious music is composed by Pritam.
