“Mazhai Pidikatha Manithan” is a forthcoming 2024 Indian action thriller movie directed by S. D. Vijay Milton and produced under Infiniti Film Ventures. It features Vijay Antony, R. Sarathkumar and Sathraj.
Mazhai Pidikkatha Manithan follows the life of “Salim” (Vijay Antony), a retired spy who has the codename "Code 2223," and is pushed into exile after a deadly betrayal by Law Minister Thavapunniyam. Denied his past life and family, he is banished to the remote Andaman Islands to live a quiet life. Broken and speechless, Salim takes solace in a stray dog, Hitler, and a growing connection with “Burma” (Sarathkumar), a sympathetic islander.
Yet soon, trouble surfaces for him with Daali, a brutal moneylender, terrorizing Burma and his heroine “Sowmya” (Megha Akash). When the goons of Daali brutalize Sowmya's family and herself, Salim is forced into revenge, thus initiating a chain of ferocious battles. His methodical retribution against Daali makes people sit up, and corrupt officer DSP Surla also turns up to bust him. As his own past comes back to haunt him, Salim is compelled into a fight for survival to defend his new family.
The movie leads to a suspenseful climax where Salim battles Daali, but just as he can achieve redemption, he is shot by his previous commander on government orders. The movie ends on a cliffhanger, suggesting a possible sequel.
“Mazhai Pidikkatha Manithan” is an action thriller which tries to strike a balance between bloodied fight scenes and emotional quotient. Vijay Antony performs in restraint but forceful mode and is ably supported by Sarathkumar and Megha Akash. The choreography of action scenes is also admirable, and the Andaman backdrop lends it visually interesting value.
Director S. D. Vijay Milton spins an interesting tale, balancing action with doses of pure emotion. Though a few subplots are a mite too thin, the film has one hooked to the screen. With a mind-stimulating climax, it is open to the possibility of a sequel, and Mazhai Pidikkatha Manithan is a film that one cannot miss for action-thriller fanatics.
