Geeta lives a wealthy lifestyle with her husband Balwant in
Kanpur. They have three children namely; Arun, Shrikant and
Usha. Her husband is however known to be a womanizer and
an alcoholic. One day things take an ugly turn when in a fit of
rage he kills the bodyguard of a courtesan he was seeing. The
cops arrest him and he is sentenced to 20 years in prison.
Geeta, who is pregnant is devastated by this news and left to
feed and care for her three children. Soon she is falsely accused
of luring men into her home and is ousted from the house.
Usha dies of starvation. With no where left to go and no money,
she decides to become a widow. She then gives birth to Kirti.
Soon she gets shelter and a kind rich man Archarya takes pity
on her. He adopts her as his daughter and leaves his entire
estate in her name and passes away.
Soon the past comes to haunt Geeta once again as she is
accused of having an illegitimate relation with a unknown man
and Arun is involves with the daughter of a prostitute. The film
is directed by Chander Vohra and produced by L V Prasad. The
music is composed by Laxmikant Pyarelal and the story is
written by Vasant Sabnis. The star cast includes Raj Babbar,
Smita Patil, Meenakshi Sheshadri, Vijayendra Ghatge, Asrani,
Komal Mahuvakar, Sushma Seth and Aruna Irani.
