Mahesh and Suman after many years of being married and prayers, finally conceive a child. Suman delivers a healthy baby boy. However thinsg take a turn for the worse when a fire breaks out at the hospital and their baby is mixed up with another, whose mother died in childbirth. Mahesh and Suman are unable to identify their own child and thus decide to raise both children on their own. They name them Surendra and Narendra. Both the boys grow up to be good friends and are close to their mother. Mahesh is however not satisfied and puts his friend’s daughter Kiran, in the house to find out who his biological son is, but it doesn’t work as both are similar in their behavior.
Soon the boys plot against Kiran on learning the truth and she leaves the house heartbroken. Meanwhile Surendra falls in love with Kiran. Soon it is revealed that Surendra is the biological son while Narendra is the outsider. The movie is directed by K Ravi Shankar and produced by A Krishnamurthi. The music is composed by Rajesh Roshan and the lyrics are written by Mehboob, Indeevar and Mohan Sharma. The cinematography is by Ishwar Bidri and the choreography is by B H Tharunkumar and Saroj Khan. The star cast includes Arshad Warsi, Mukul Dev, Namrata Shirodkar, Sadashiv Amrapurkar, Kader Khan, Johnny Lever, Dinesh Hingoo, Pramod Moutho and Reema Khan.
