Vijay is brought up in a wealthy household and is studying in a reputed college. His best friend is Anupama, who is the daughter of Advocate Yashwant, a family friend. Both the families assume that eventually Vijay and Anupama will marry each other. However when Vijay meets a new student named Neelima from his college he is instantly attracted to her and both become good friends. They both end up falling in love with each other. Vijay takes Neelima to meet his parents who then find out about her past and down right reject her. Neelima comes from a poor family and is an orphan. Her character also has had a bad reputation.
Vijay is however relentless and decides to stay with Neelima and leaves his father’s house to live in a small hutment with Neelima. One day Vijay gets the shock of his life when he sees her in the arms of another man in his college. He feels his parents were right all along and goes back to his house and agrees on marrying Anupama. The film is directed by Shiv Kumar and produced by Pahlaj Nihalani. The music is composed by Bappi Lahiri and the screenplay is written by Mulraj Rajda. The star cast includes Chunky Pandey, Gulshan Grover, Neelam, Sonam, Pran, Om Shivpuri, Tej Sapru, Mac Mohan, Paintal, Vinod Mehra, Anjana Mumtaz, Sushma Seth and Neelam.
