Shankar is imprisoned at the age of 13 for killing his uncle who was trying to sell his mother off to a rich man named Malik. After 10 years when Shankar returns he is devastated to see the state of his mother Yashoda and sister. He tries to makes ends meet and give his family a better life but everyone treats him like a criminal and doesn’t let him live a normal life. He thus takes to the world of crime big time and his mother disowns him for this. Shankar then falls in love with a gangster named Malik’s daughter Sonia. He also starts working for Malik, who takes him as his successor. Very soon Malik dies and Shakar takes over. He is however desperate to unite with his mother. Meanwhile Sonia gets pregnant and urges Shakar to leave his wicked ways but he refuses. She thus moves out and lives with Yashoda.
Left all alone and abandoned by his family, Shakar decides to return home but his past will soon come to haunt him. The film is directed by Umesh Mehra and produced by Parvesh Mehra. The music is composed by Anu Malik and the screenplay is written by Vinay Shukla. The cinematography is by S Pappu. The star cast includes Mithun Chakraborty, Madhuri Dixit, Nutan, Amrish Puri, Shakti Kapoor, Sharat Saxena, Gulshan Grover, Roopesh Kumar, Tej Sapru, Suresh Oberoi, Johnny Lever, Jagdeep, Mahesh Anand, Kunika, Rajesh Puri, Pallavi Joshi, Jayhsree Arora and Jaya Mathur.
