Dinanath Singh, played by Snehal Lakhia is given the honor by the Indian Government and it is captured live on television. Taking this opportunity, Dinanath also reveals that he feel blessed by the honor but is saddened that his village still does not have electricity. The government promises him electricity and thus it delivers. His grandson, Karan, played by Abhishek Bachchan hears this news and is thrilled. He then gets a satellite installed in the village and gets a Television for all the village to watch. The villagers are spell bound by this spectacle called TV.

 

The village is so mesmerized by the TV that they reduce their temple visits and other routines that they usually were doing. The village priest gets furious at this kind of culture that the people have settled into of watching TV. He complains to Chotey Thakur, who himself is addicted to the television. However when the priest tells Thakur that his sister Kesar and Karan are in love, he is furious and tells Karan to back off or he will destroy him.

 

The movie is directed by Apoorva Lakhia and produced by Vishal Nihalani. The music is composed by Anu Malik and Ranjit Barot.
