An honest and compassionate Pundit is accused of rape and embezzlement of a large sum of money. He is subsequently removed from his position and arrested. When he is released after his sentence, the Pundit makes up his mind to avenge his humiliation. However he is not only unable to locate his family but also is helpless at bringing the culprits to justice. He has to now find a way out of his hopelessness and poverty to fight all odds and prove his innocence.
The film is directed by Prakash Mehra and is produced by Yash Johar. The music is composed by Bappi Lahiri. The screenplay is written by Prakash Mehra and the cinematography is by N Satyen. The star cast includes Raj Babbar, Raaj Kumar, Akbar Khan, Meenakshi Sheshadri, Tuna Munim, Raakhee, Ranjeet, Pran, Om Prakash, Vijayendra, Bindu and Kajal Kiran.
