The story of Naseem revolves around the Babri masjid demolition in the city of Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh. The city comes under the threat of communal violence and riots everywhere. Meanwhile a 15 year old Muslim girl from Bombay called Naseem talks to her grandfather about the communal tension in the country and he assures her about the harmony that had prevailed in the pre-independence era in the country. Meanwhile Naseem notices the colossal changes in her school dynamics since the riots have started. Things don’t seem to be as harmonious as Naseem thought they would be. Things take a turn for the worse, when Naseem’s grandfather dies after the announcing of the Babri masjid demolition.
