Jaggu and Madhukar rule a small community in a village. They exploit and take advantage of the innocence of the villagers to their full extent. Thus to keep their grip tight on the villagers, the two tyrants have kept them illiterate and not allowed anyone of them to get an education. This puts the villagers completely at the mercy of the two men. One clever young boy named Ramu however, decides to get himself educated and
does so with the help of the local schoolmaster. Ramu then grows up to be a shrewd and smart man who understands the injustice happening to the villagers. Jaggu and Madhukar now clearly see Ramu as a threat to their evil plans and want him out of their way. They create a situation for him where he is left with no choice but to leave the village and go.
