The story of Ooops a Desi deals with illegal immigrants living abroad and what they struggle with on a day-to-day basis. Their invalid immigration status can result in many hazards and serious consequences on one hand or could be a blessing in disguise in another. Either way they are playing with the law and enforcement of another country, which can never be justified, and especially in case of emergencies can leave them helpless and hopeless.
In New york City passers by are seeing something unusual and frightening. People aren’t sure how to react to an Indian man holding a sign that reads, ‘BOMB here’. Some take him as a lunatic and others have an urge to call the police. The man has a sinister past that has forced him to do this. The man holding the sign is Xavier who has been doing odd jobs with his friend Dev to make ends meet. Both are illegal immigrants so getting a proper and well paying employment isn’t an option. Returning to India also is too far fetched with their unnerving past.
One day their roommate AJ gets abducted by unknown assailants and they cannot report it to the police as they are all illegal immigrants. Thus the two boys decide to find AJ themselves and even with the abductors. The movie is directed and produced by Jenner Jose. The music is composed by Dibyajeet Sahoo, Gaurav H Singh and Hardik Dave.
