A young, immature man (Rajinikanth) swears to exact revenge on the smuggler who killed his sister, so he enrols in a martial arts school. There, he puts in a lot of work to hone his fighting techniques and become a great fighter. He disguises himself as Paayum Puli (Pouncing Tiger) and goes out to exact revenge, but his plans are soon derailed by Radha's attraction to him. In this action-packed film, Manorama, Silk Smitha, and Jaishankar also have leading roles.
