Madhavi, played by Konkana Sen Sharma comes to Mumbai and joins a leading newspaper as a journalist. She is hired by editor Deepak, played by Boman Irani to write articles on celebrities on Page 3. She lives with two room-mates namely; Pearl, played by Sandhya Mridul who is an air hostess but aspires to marry a rich man and Gayatri, played by Tara Sharma who wants to be a film actress. While Pearl marries a rich elderly man and moves to the US, Gayatri befriends a film actor who gets her pregnant but asks her to abort the child as he is married and doesn’t want to ruin his career. She tries to commit suicide but loses her child.

Madhavi meanwhile covers all events of celebrities from launch parties to funerals of actors and sees the fake emotions these famous people sometimes show. She becomes horrified when one of the socialites who is involved in charity commits suicide due to her husbands illegal activities. She then tries her hand at crime reporting with another fellow reporter named Vinayak but is unable to bear the brutality of the crimes she sees in front of her. She is disgusted when she sees the police commissioner enjoying himself at a party while a bomb blast has shaken the city. Later she starts dating a guy who turns out to be gay and was merely using her as a pawn in his drama.

The movie is directed by Madhur Bhandarkar and produced by Bobby Pushkarna and Kavita Pushkarna. The music is composed by Virgin Emi, Samir Tandon and Raju Singh.
