Anita lives a poor lifestyle with her husband and two children. Her life seems almost happy until her in-laws begin to torture her for dowry. They mentally, physically and emotionally trouble her and thus living with them becomes impossible and devastating for Anita. She then decides to confront her in-laws and get some sympathy from them but realizes they already have plans to abandon her and throw her out of the house. With no where left to go and two small children to feed, Anita wanders around the streets, until she meets Birju Madari who is a kind hearted man and gives her shelter. He however has two responsibilities of his won who he loves a lot, and they are a monkey and dog who help him with his street performances. Together Anita and Birju fight the world against their atrocities and injustice.
Parivaar is directed by Shashilal Nair and produced by V Lakshamanan. The music is composed by Laxmikant Pyarelal and the story is written by Talukdars. The cinematography is by Peter Pareira and Thomas Xavier. The star cast includes Mithun Chakraborty, Shakti Kapoor, Meenakshi Sheshadri, Aruna Irani, Jagdeep, Guddu, Makrand and Sadhana Singh.
