Balwant Rai is a wealthy and hard working industrialist. He lives with his two daughters Lata and Sita, While Lata loves classical dancing, Sita is into classical music. They bothe one day decide to have a competition to see who is the best. Both are of equal talent and skill, and yet Lata wins by a stroke of luck. This upsets Sita so much that she drives off with her car to kill herself. On the way she ends up killing Jyoti, the sister of worker Arjun. Lata blames herself for Sita’s death and becomes mentally disturbed. Meanwhile Arjun swears revenge for his sister’s loss and enters the Rai’s household as Lata’s husband. He however falls in love with her. Inspector Karan too is in love with Lata and takes Arjun into custody. Eventually Karan dies saving Arjun and unites with Lata.
The film is directed and produced by Shomu Mukerji. The music is composed by Bappi Lahiri and the story is written by K Bhagyaraj and Shomu Mukherjee. The star cast includes Vinod Khanna,Jackie Shroff, Sridevi,Poonam Dhillon, Saeed Jaffery,Om Shivpuri,Satish Shah, Moon Moon Sen,Anjana Mumtaz and Amita Nangia.
