Phamous is a romantic crime film directed by Karan Lalit Butani and is produced by Raj Khatri for Vidisha Productions and Amitabh Chandra. The film features Jimmy Sheirgill, Shreiya Saran , Kay Kay Menon and Pankaj Tripathi , Jackie Shroff, and Mahie Gill in the lead roles . Scheduled for it’s release on 1st June 2018.
The script is set on the Chambal region of Madhya Pradesh and is one of the fourth films shot in Chambal valley known for it’s notorious connection with the dacoits .
The story begins with Shambu ( Jackie Shroff) who accidentally kills his own daughter on her wedding day while he tries to save her from her kidnapper Kadak Singh ( Kay Kay) for which he lands in the jail. In the jail he swears by to take vengeance.
Radhe ( Jimmy Sheirgill) is crazy about the local politician Kadak Singh and dreams of being like him and posses a weapon of his own. Kadak Singh is indebted to Radhe for saving his life as a young boy.
A romantic story with crime and lust , the film has not much to offer and only goes on to prove that good prevails over evil and the wicked man gets his end but the film is about rape, murders and revenge.
