Ajay Bakshi, played by Shahrukh Khan is a successful news reporter of a renowned agency. The rival news agency has Ria Bannerjee as their reporter. Ajay and Ria are arch rivals and and they try to outdo each other at every given opportunity. Ria however, uses her beauty and charm to get her work easily done through Ajay as she easily fools him. Meanwhile the minister’s brother-in-law gets shot down by a man named Mohan who later escapes and hides in Ria and Ajay’s car. The minister then takes advantage of his brother-in-law’s death and uses it to gain more votes.
Mohan then tells Ajay and Ria his story that he lived a happy life with his wife and daughter. One day his daughter goes for an interview but is raped and killed by the minister’s brother-in-law and thus took revenge by killing him. Soon Ria and Ajay join forces to help Mohan get justice. Later when Mohan is arrested and given the death sentence, the two journalists release Mohan’s confession and his story and his execution is stopped.
The movie is directed by Aziz Mirza and produced by Juhi Chawla and Shahrukh Khan. The music is composed by Jatin-Lalit. The cinematography is by Santosh Sivan.
