Balraam and Dharamraaj are friends who work on the farm. They fix their respective children’s marriage to each other to cement their undying friendship. Subsequently Dharamraaj goes to the city to start his own business while his son Raju is sent abroad for further studies. Balram’s daughter Guddi falls in love with a journalist named Gopal. Later it is revealed Gopal is in fact Raju and this angers Guddi. She swears never to speak to him again. In distress Raju takes to drinking and Guddi’snmarriage is fixed to a local man.
Raju is imprisoned as to not let him create a scene at Guddi’s wedding. He then escapes prison and kidnaps Guddi from her mandap and runs. She then refuses to marry Raju, telling him how much she hates him. Then Raju gives a gun in Guddi’s hand and tells her to shoot him if she doesn’t love him. Meanwhile a mentally ill man from the village shoots Raju. Guddi then realizes how much she loves Raju and apologizes to him.
The film is directed by Singitam Shrinivas Rao and produced by Rajendra Kumar. The music is composed by Anand Milind and the lyrics are written by Anand Bakshi. The star cast includes Sunil Dutt, Kumar Gaurav, Madhuri Dixit, Rajendra Kumar,Babloo C Mukherji, Shakti Kapoor,Akash Khurana,Tiku Talsania,RajuShreshtha, Kirti Singh, Maya Alagh and Dina Pathak.
