Pratiggya is a 1975 action comedy film directed by Dulal Guha and produced by Dharmendra and B. S. Deol. The music was by Laxmikant Pyarelal. Starring in the film are Dharmendra, Hema Malini , Ajit, Jagdeep Mukri , Johny Walker, Mehar Mittal and Keshto Mukherjee.
The story revolves around Ajit (essayed by Dharmendraw) who is out to avenge the murder of his parents. He is raised by his foster mother who tells him about his biological parents who were killed by the notorious Daku Bharath Thakur.(Ajit). By The film moves ahead with some action scenes along with some slapstick comedy. Ajit in the film goes undercover to seek his revenge and his love angle is played by Hema Malini, a village belle who is the niece of the dreaded dacoit Bharath Thakur. Ajit sets up a police station in the said village with the help of the villagers to set up a trap and to spy on the movements of the dacoit. His pratigya and promise to himself of taking revenge is fulfilled.
