Akash is a popular and well-known poet and singer and goes by the alias Nishant. His mother and father are unaware of this fact. His sister’s friend Asha likes him but he does not pay any heed to her advances. One day during a trip to Shimla, he meets a dancer named Shikha and falls in love with her. Shikha loves the poet Nishant and does not know that Akash and him are one and the same person. When she realizes this she too falls for him. His father would like him to become a doctor and does not want him to marry Shikha. He arranges his marriage to
Asha. Things take an ugly turn when Shikha is diagnosed with brain tumor. He advises his doctor friend not to disclose this fact to Shikha to keep her happy. He then tells him parents of her condition and asks to marry her. A few months after their marriage, Shika’s symptoms begin to show and during a stage show she passes away. The film is directed by Sudesh Issar and produced by Pawan Kumar and Rajni sharma. The music is composed by Jagjit Singh. The star cast includes Raj Babbar, Shashi Kapoor, Anita Raaj, Sajjan, Madan Puri, Shammi and Komal Soni.
