Prem Kahani a love story of 1975 is produced by Lekh Khosla and directed by Raj Khosla. Film starring Rajesh Khanna as Rajesh Narain, Shashi Kapoor as Dheeraj, Mumtaz as Kamini in the lead roles. Supporting actor is Vinod Khanna essaying the role of Sher Khan.
The plot is a love story of sacrifices. Rajesh Narain a poet, and Kamini are in love with each other but circumstances due to his brother’s and niece’s death at the hands of the British, he decides to become a revolutionary freedom fighter. Fearing his struggle during the freedom movement with the British officials and getting killed and leaving behind Kamini as a widow he decides to part ways with her, not giving her the actual reason of his stepping back. A hurt Kamini gets married to Dheeraj. After a couple of years, Rajesh is escorted by a kind truck driver Sher Khan who takes him for a refuge to his friend Dheeraj’s home, not realizing that his wife is his ex-flame Kamini. Dheeraj suspects some past connection between his wife Kamini and Rajesh. The story ends with Rajesh sacrificing again for the peace between the couple.
