Raja comes to the city with his friend to look for a lucrative job but fails to do so after many tries. They are one day humiliated and made fun of by a local gangster named Kallu. Raja gets furious and they start a physical fight and eventually wins it making him famous in the neighborhood. Raja then starts collection protection money from the local people. One day he meets a girl named Laxmi and comes to her aid when her father suddenly dies and he helps her cremate his body. On another occasion Kallu tries to molest her and burns her hut down, Raja again comes to her aid. He then invites her to stay with him. Soon they both fall in love and she helps Raja transform into a good human being.
Raja and Laxmi decide to get married but on the marriage day, her ex-lover shows up and proposes marriage. This breaks Raja’s heart and he is arrested for killing Kallu. Life suddenly spirals out of control for Raja and Laxmi. The film is directed by Bapu and produced by B Loganathan. The music is composed by Bappi Lahiri and its story is written by Jayendra Jain. The star cast includes Mithun Chakraborty,Vinod Mehra, Madhuri Dixit, Satish Kaushik,Nilu Phule,Ranjet,Gulnar Irani, Devan Verma and Aruna Irani.
