The story of the movie is inspired by true events in the life of one of the greatest Hockey players in India Prithipal Singh. His journey, struggles, aspirations and predicaments have all been documented well in history and have been briefly shown in this movie. India has been a country very involved in sports activities from time immemorial. Many great players have been produced on the Indian soil and Prithipal Singh is one of them.
After winning a bronze medal in the Olympic Games held in Mexico in 1968, Prithipal Singh was disheartened and didn’t know how to move forward with the game, thus he took the tough decision of quitting. He then went on to join the Punjab Agriculture University where he became the head of student welfare. Everything in his life seemed to have been going smoothly once again when tragedy strikes. Between the clashes of two student groups, one of the students is found murdered. The suspicion is pointed towards Prithipal Singh and his world comes crashing down once again.
The movie is directed and produced by by Babita Puri. The music is composed by Jayant Aryan. The cinematography is done by Shoeb Siddiqui.
