Pukar is directed and produced by Ramesh Behl, starring Amitabh Bachchan, Zeenat Aman, Tina Munim, Randhir Kapoor, Prem Chopra. The film was released on 18th November 1983.

The story is about freedom fighters who are trying to free Goa from Portuguese rule. Purandare, Narvekar and DInanath are the three revolutionaries. Dinanath tries to escape with his young son Ramdas, when the cops come to know about his whereabouts but is shot and seen by Ramdas who starts hating revolutionaries.

He changes his name from Ramdas to Ronnie (Amitabh Bachchan) the gangster and is the perpetual angry young who man who is caught between two minds. The film deals with the Freedom fighters of Goa who gained independence from the Portuguese Rule. He befriends Julia (Zeenat Aman) and takes to crime but helps the poor villagers. The police commissioner is shot, and Ronnie helps to find the culprit, who is young man Shekhar (Randhir Kapoor) and is hand in gloves with Julia who are revolutionaries to overthrow the Portuguese Government. Ronnie gets very upset when he realises that all who have supported him were also revolutionaries. In the end, he comes to know why Purandare kills his father, will he join hands with Shekhar?
