Raja Abroadiya directed by Lakhwinder Shabla , story written by Manjinder Mani starring Robin Sohi, Vaishnavi Patwardhan and Alankrita Bora.
The film is one of the finest comedy is about emotions and commitments. The story unfolds with a rich village boy Raja ( Robin Sohi) is uneducated but enjoys his life on his father’s money. One day his ego is hurt by a villager’s son who returns from abroad married to a foreigner. The incident forces Raja to accept the new challenge of becoming Raja abroadiya ( from abroad) but the lack of his education had not let him move forward in life or think about going abroad. Unknowingly he comes across an educated , English speaking girl Preety ( Vaishnavi Patwardhan) who also dreams of going abroad but has no money. Looking at her situation her colleague and friend suggest she meet Raja who has the money but is not educated and they both pose as the husband and wife. While he has the money power she has the education that will help each other to make a career abroad. They go ahead and get married as per their plan and go abroad.
Gradually the two fall in love and thus the story leads to a happy ending. The film has some hilarious scenes , directed by Shabla the film has a ground reality of the thought process about uneducated villagers about the foreign girls and the culture. The film also dwells upon the comparative analysis between Indian and Western culture and values. The film is a lot of entertainment .
