From politics to brutal killings, Rakta Charitra – I has all the ingredients of a violent action movie. The film shows how Pratap Ravi, who is a sober college student, turns into a vicious killer to avenge his father’s and brother’s death. Then there is the inhuman Bukka Reddy who rapes women, tortures and brutally assassinates his victims for no rhyme or reason most of the times. When his father is killed he plans a horrifying revenge of Pratap Ravi, while Pratap plans a horrific one for him.
Then there is the rise of the very same Pratap Ravi in politics, when he becomes powerful and people want to see his downfall. There is blood and gore to the extreme till the very end. But the end shows that good always wins over evil. Before we know it Pratap is killed by the hero of the movie Surya and he has no remorse over it. At the end Pratap’s wife gives birth to his child, which is the beginning of another battle.
The movie is directed by Ram Gopal Varma and produced by Madhu Mantena and Sheetal Vinod Talwar. The music is composed by Sukhwinder Singh, Bapi-Tutul, Dharam Sandeep and Imran-Vikram.
