Ram is a talented artists and finds employment as a prompter at a play. When the actual play itself fails to entertain the audiences, Ram’s last minute improvisation of a barber who gets people drunk saves the day. The audience rolls with laughter and thoroughly enjoy the play. Ram’s mother is proud of his talent but his father, who is a barber by profession himself, detests the job of performing arts. Ram nevertheless carries on with his skill but soon realizes that his lower caste is coming in the way of his talent and expertise. No matter how what he achieves, his caste will always put it all away. He soon begins to accept the way things are. The film is directed and produced by Kantilal Rathod. The music is composed by Jaidev. The star cast includes Amol Palekar, Nilu Phule, Sushasini Muley, Ram Nagakar, Datta Bhatt, Arvind Despande and Sulbha Deshpande.
