Vijay Harshwardhan Malik (Amitabh Bachchan) is an honest CEO of a news channel 24/7 India which is losing its ratings. Amrish Kakkar (Mohnish Behl) works for another news channel. Mohan Pandey (Paresh Rawal) is a corrupt, rich politician. Jai (Sudeep) is Malik’s son who strikes a deal with him to frame the Prime Minister Hooda (K.K Raina) in a morally wrong terror attack. Naveen Shankalya (Rajat Kapoor) supports Mohan Pandey as he has a selfish motive to make him a big Industrialist. Jai shoots a video which he shows to his father Vijay, trying to convince him, forced to believe his son, he airs it on his channel. The scandal rocks the nation & Mohan Pandey wins the election. Soon enough Purab (Ritesh Deshmukh) finds out the truth, tells his boss Vijay.
For the last time Malik goes on air, apologises for the wrong his son Jai, Son in law Naveen, exposing Mohan Pandey though he denies being a part of it. Jai commits suicide. Malik resigns as the CEO of his channel handing over the reigns to reporter Purab for telling the truth.
