The story begins with Mangalasserry Neelakandan's (Mohanlal) son Karthikeyan's (Mohanlal) fall as he sets out to seek money, eventually becoming a liquor baron. Neelakandan and Karthikeyan's relationship deteriorates when the father disapproves of his son's money-making practices. Mundakkal Shekharan (Napoleon) reappears after serving a prison sentence for the murder of one of Neelakandan's companions.
