The Sultan is known to be a just and compassionate man in his kingdom. He has always supported the causes of the poor and less fortunate. However when he learns that his own son has been misusing his power and spoiling the peace of the kingdom, he reprimands him and has him publicly whipped. His daughter Razia is the apple of his eye and he decides that she will be his successor to the throne. This creates a lot of gossip and raises eyebrows as a woman has never before ruled the kingdom. Soon Razia takes over and proves to be just as dedicated and
compassionate as her father. Her rein is welcomed with joy by many. However there is one glitch that causes a problem. And that is Razia Sultan being in love with Yakut Jamalluddin. He was previously a slave to the king and now has been inducted into their army. Razia will have to chose what is more important to her, her love of the kingdom or that for Yakut. The film is directed by Kamal Amrohi and produced by A K Misra. The music is composed by Khayyam. The star cast includes Dharmendra, Hema Malini, Parveen Babi, Pradeep Kumar, Ajit,Tajdar Amrohi, Vijendra and Veena.
