Vishnu, played by Abhay Deol is a happy-go-lucky chap and wants to live life on his own terms. However his father is keen that Vishnu joins in the family business of hair oil and help out. But Vishnu has no interest in the business and wants to do something on his own what he likes doing. Fed up of the constant pressure, Vishnu finds a job of driving an old truck and sees it as a way to escape his father’s rants and nags. He drives off carrying a 1942 Chevrolet that needs to transported to the other side.
On the way he offers rides to a young boy who has ran away from home, an old entertainer and a gypsy woman. The get stranded in the desert looking for water and food. They encounter a bunch of rude and corrupt cops but manage to get away. They later realize the truck also has two old film projectors and many classic films. The journey teaches the travellers many important lessons in life about humanity, friendship and trust.
The movie is directed by Dev Benegal and produced by Ross Katz and Susan Landau. The music is composed by Michael Brook.
