Shiva, played by Akshay Kumar is a small time thug who falls in love with Paro, played by Sonakshi Sinha. He tells her that he will leave the world of crime but after committing one last robbery that will give them enough money to spend a comfortable life. He thus, runs off with a truck, which he thinks has money but later learns has a little girl Chinki, who he is forced to keep with him. He later finds a picture of Chinki with her father, who looks exactly like Shiva. It is revealed that her father is Vikram Rathore who is a police inspector. While looking for his daughter he has a horrific accident and sufferes severe brain injury.

Shiva learns that Chinki’s mother too has died and feels sorry for the girl and starts taking care of her. Paro, meanwhile thinks that Chinki is Shiva’s daughter and leaves him. The same goons who are looking for Rathore see Shiva thinking it’s him and attack him. Shiva and Chinki run and just when a goon is about to stab Shiva, Rathore appears from the top of the building and kills the goon. Inspite of his brain injury he fights them all. Another officer narrates the story of Rathore to Shiva. A corrupt and deadly mafia called Baapji and his crooked brother Munna are raising hell in the village. Rathore arrests Munna for raping a cops wife but later gets released due to his brother’s political influence. But while humiliating the police officers at a party, Rathore accidentally kills Munna. To avenge his death Baapji sends his men and stabs and shoots Rathore, but he survives.

Later Shiva promises revenge and he eventually kills Baapji and all his goons and makes Chinki his daughter for life. Paro realizes the truth and apologizes to Shiva and they re-unite. The movie is directed by Prabhu Deva and produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Ronnie Screwvala. The music is composed by M.M Keeravani and Sandeep Chowta.
