Ravi is brought up in a wealthy household by his dominant grandmother. He has been a rebel all his life but still respects
her. One day he sees the beautiful Mona on the beach and falls in love with her. They become close in the course of time and he learns that she comes from a close knit fishermen’s community. Raja is Mona’s close friend and secretly loves her but is unable to express his feelings towards her. Ravi however confesses his love for Mona and she accepts as she too loves him. When Raja comes to know of this development he is heart broken. Ravi’s arrogant grandmother however dislikes poor people and imagines his grandson to marry someone rich and affluent just like them. When she comes to know of Ravi’s love
she will do everything in her capacity to break the alliance. The film is directed by Ramesh Sippy and produced by G P
