Mr. Sharma lives a middle class lifestyle with his five children; four sons and a daughter. The elder three sons are happily married but only Sunil/Saaheb and daughter Geeta is unmarried. Sharma decides to get her married to a wealthy boy who is about to re-locate to the UK. However the dowry money they demand is much to high for their budget and yet they try their best. The sons fail to pool money and Sharma’s all efforts are in vain. It is then that Saaheb, the uneducated and unemployed son of the household comes up with the money. Everyone is shocked and even suspect that he stole it. However when they learn the truth about how he got the money, they all are emotional. The film is directed by Anil Ganguly and produced by Rajani Ganguly. The music is composed by Bappi Lahiri. The story is written by Ranjan Roy and the screenplay is by Sachin Bhowmick. The star cast includes Anil Kapoor, Rakhee Gulzar, Amrita Singh, Utpal Dutt, Biswajeet, Vijay Arora and Dilip Dhawan.
