Akash, played by John Abraham is a doctor and he is happily married to the love of his life Maya, played by Tara Sharma, also a doctor. Maya is expecting and Akash and her are over the moon with joy. They hear the news of an outbreak of Malaria near the Burmese border and Maya rushes to help, despite Akash not being happy with the idea. Tragedy strikes when the bus Maya was travelling in meets with an accident and falls into a river. Akash is devastated and rushes to find Maya’s body but is unable to find it. He has a strange feeling that she might not be dead. He then tries to communicate with Maya through her hospital patients who have had near dead experiences.
Maya’s close friend Tanya, played by Mahima Chaudhary tries to console Akash after the tragedy as he did so when Tanya lost her lover. Akash then takes the help of a nun named Martha and goes to the place where the accident took place. He jumps into the river where the wreckage of the bus lies and there he sees Maya’s soul beckoning him and taking him through the horrific events of that fateful day. He then goes to a nearby village. He enters a house where he is surprised to find that his wife after dying gave birth to a daughter. Maya teaches him to trust and was reaching out to him so he could meet his daughter and take her home.
The movie is directed by Anurag Basu and produced by Mahesh Bhatt. The music is composed by Anu Malik, M.M Keeravani and Raju Rao. The cinematography is by Fuwad Khan.
