Krishna is a young boy, who in a fit of rage sets fire to his older brother’s bike for bullying him constantly. His mother then makes him pay the price by asking him to work at a circus to earn Rs. 500 for his brother’s bike repairs. Krishna left with no choice does as told. But one day when he is running some errands for the owner, he comes back to an empty land and realizes that the circus has left. He then leaves for Bombay and tries to look for the circus crew, but unfortunately gets robbed of the little belongings he had. He then meets a drug addict named Chillum and works at a tea stall with his help. Krishna works day and night to make enough money to take back to his mother. Meanwhile he falls in love with a young prostitute named Sola Saal. He tries to run away with her but he gets caught and beaten.
Soon it turns out that Krishna’s attempt in making and saving money is all in vain, as Chillum robs all his money for drugs and dies of an overdose. All Krishna’s dreams are shattered once again. The film is directed by Mira Nair and produced by Mira Nair Gabriel Auer. The music is composed by Qamar Jalalabadi and the story is written by Mira Nair and Sooni Taraporevala. The star cast includes Shafiq Syed, Chanda Sharma, Nana Patekar, Raghuvir Yadav, Tara lasrado, Hansa Vithal, Anita Kanwar, Raghuveer Yadav, Nana Patekar, Shafiq, Amrit Patel, Irrfan Khan, Yunus Parvez, Anjan Srivastava, Chandra Shekhar, Anjan, Ali, Shaukat Azmi, Anita Kanwar, Sanjana Kapoor and Sulabha Deshpande.
