Saraswati, played by Mawra Hocane is an extremely simple and traditional girl. She doesn’t like any kind of glamour or modernity in clothing or style, which is why no guy ever notices or likes her. Her younger sister Kaveri, played by Divyetta Singh wants to marry her boyfriend but her father has put a condition that only after Saraswati gets married can she marry. An upset and enraged Kaveri abuses Saraswati.
Saraswati desperate for help goes to her ex-convict, alcoholic neighbor Inder, played by Harshvardhan Rane for help. She requests his stylist girlfriend, Ruby to give her a makeover, but she refuses. One day they misunderstand seeing Inder and Saraswati together and the building guard assumes they are having an affair. He alerts everyone and her parents walk in on them while she is nursing his wound on the bed. Her father disowns her and throws her out of the house.
He finally gives consent to Kaveri’s wedding and Saraswati isn’t invited. It breaks her heart. Inder helps her rent an apartment and also get a makeover. She grabs the attention of her office crush Abhimanyu, and he proposes to her. Meanwhile Inder also falls in love with her. On her wedding day, Abhimanyu learns that she has been disowned by her father and breaks the marriage.
Sarawati realizes that she loves Inder and they decide to get married but soon come to know that she has a fatal disease and dies. Sanam Teri Kasam is directed by Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru and produced by Deepak Mukut. The music is composed by Himesh Reshammiya.
