The story of the film revolves around the age old tradition in Haryana, UP where after a woman’s husband dies, she must marry either his brother or the nearest cousin. The husband’s brother or cousin might be of any age, the widowed women must accept him as her next husband. One woman who stood against this ridiculous tradition is Sanjhi. She would have let her murdered husband’s brother Chand have any relations with her, let alone marry her. She rebels and will fight all odds to let go of this custom that is devastating for a woman who is mourning her husband’s loss.
The film is directed by Pradeep Hooda and produced by Sumitra Satish. The music is composed by Tilak Raj. The star cast includes Om Puri, Sachin, Sumitra, Dinesh Thakur, Sadashiv, Amarpurkar, Goga Kapoor, Javed Khan, Naina Behl and Rekha Sahai.
