Sarju works as a watchman and lives a hand to mouth existence with his wife Laxmi. They have high hopes that they will educate their son Amar and thus work hard to give him a good education. Amar on his part falls in love with one of rich fellow classmates in college. Just to impress her, he pretends to be the son of a wealthy landlord. He thus disowns his poor parents and is embarrassed by them. The parents suffer due to his behavior and have nothing but misery after their only son disrespects them.
The film is directed by Dasri Narayan Rao and produced by D Rama Naidu. The music is composed by Anand Milind. The story and screenplay is written by Dasari Narayana Rao and the cinematography is by Chota K Naidu. The star cast includes Jeetendra, Deepak Tijori, Moushmi Chatterjee,Neelam, Johny Lever, Asrani, Prem Chopra, Suresh Oberio, Satyen Kappu, Laxmikant Berde,Navin Nischol,Deven Bhojani,Adi Irani,Anil Nagrath, Kunika and Guddi Maruti.
