Siddharth, played by Farhan Akhtar is a fun loving and ahppy go lucky aspiring musician. He is happily married to his sweetheart Trisha, played by Vidya Balan. She finds out one day that she is expecting and things begin to change. Sid isn’t ready for a baby and gets nervous but doesn’t tell Trisha. She gives birth to a baby girl and is constantly busy with the baby, which irks Sid. He takes advice from her brother-in-law Ranveer, played by Ram Kapoor who tells him when things get too stressful he fakes a business trip to his wife and stays in a hotel to live a peaceful life.
Sid takes his advice but it doesn’t last long as Trisha hires a costly baby sitter, which adds to the expenses. So he moves in with his friend Manav, played by Vir Das and lives a hassfree life. A new neighbor comes to live near Sid and Trisha’s house who is very helpful to Trisha and has even once saved the baby. Sid gets jealous of him and tells Trisha that he had been living with his friend. Infuriated she throws Sid out and later he learns that Ranveer is having an affair. He apologizes to Trisha and she tells him that she is pregnant with their second child.
Later Sid is enjoying his fatherhood with his two kids and also giving advice to other random fathers at a park. He tells Trisha that he has finally got a chance to compose a song for a music company. Trisha meanwhile is in a hotelroom sipping on wine and telling Sid she’s busy with urgent work.
The movie is directed by Saket Chaudhary and produced by Ekta & Shobha Kapoor and Pritish Nandy. The music is composed by Pritam.
