Aarti is a modern happy-go-lucky girl, who meets Satyendra on the insistence of her parents on the pretext of getting married. Aarti seems to be impressed by Satyendra’smodern views on marriage. Slowly the two fall in love. Aarti is a career oriented and intelligent girl who soon finds out on the night of her marriage that she has cleared her PSC exams. She also learns a disturbing fact, that after her marriage, her to be in-laws will not allow her to pursue a career. This changes Aarti’s mind and she runs away from home. Her uncle manipulates Satyendra’s family to repay the dowry money. They are left humiliated by Aarti and her family.
After a few years Aarti becomes a PCS officer and get acussed of accepting a bribe. The officer in charge of the case happens to be Satyendra who is now an IAS officer. He shows no sympathy to her. Soon the case proceeds and Aarti is proven innocent. Turns out it was Satyendra who worked to prove her innocence. She apologizes to him and wants to marry him but he refuses. Soon she is about to tie the knot with another man when Satyendra gate crashes the wedding and realizes he still loves her. The wedding in fact was a hoax to make Satyendra realize his feelings for Aarti.
The film is directed by Ratna Sinha and produced by Vinod Bachchan and Manju Bachchan. The star cast includes Rajkummar Rao and Kriti Kharbanda.
