The movie is an action thriller directed by Ramesh Sippy, produced by G.P. Sippy, starring Sunil Dutt, Amitabh Bachchan, Shashi Kapoor, Shatrughan Sinha, Raakhee, Parveen Babi, Bindiya Goswami, Kulbhushan Kharbanda. Released on the 12th of December 1980.
Shiv Kumar (Sunil Dutt) is a DCP who lives with his wife Sheetal (Raakhee) & young daughter. He gets transferred to Bombay where his two brothers Vijay (Amitabh Bachchan) & Ravi (Shashi Kapoor) also live. Both are good, intelligent but waste time in swindling, loafing around. There is a mysterious man who wants to kill Shiv Kumar twice. Vijay & Ravi ask him to change his profession, but he does not, meanwhile gets killed. Both the brothers set out to take revenge. Shaakal (Kulbhushan Kharbanda) is crime don who operates on an island out of India. Sheetal identifies the mysterious man who shows up at their house as Rakesh (Shatrughan Sinha) who was hired by Shakaal to kill Shiv Kumar. He tells them how he had to kill him as his wife was kept as hostage. Finally, all three of them get together to find out about Shaakal and pose as a musical troupe and enter his den. Ultimately Shaakaal is destroyed.
