Shaukat, played by Sanjay Dutt is a successful novelist who has won a booker prize for his last work. His wife Antara, played by Aishwarya Rai is a college lecturer and a supportive wife and loves him. However, his next couple of books fail miserably and his fans are disappointed in him. Depressed and frustrated, Shaukat almost gives up on writing until one day he gets a unique idea of writing a story. He decides to write a story on a woman named Tamanna and make Anatara the protagonist. His creates a story based on her every move and event in her life.

 

Shaukat soon learns that a fellow young college professor named Yash, played by Zayed Khan, is a secret admirer of Antara but she has never mentioned about him. Neither has Antara ever told Yash that she is married. Shaukat now encourages the relationship further and lets Antara hide the fact that she is married. Trouble begins in paradise when Antara starts having real feelings for Yash. Shaukat now believes that whatever he writes will actually happen in the real story between Antara and Yash. He later writes of Yash committing suicide on learning of Antara’s marriage and Antara learns of this. Disturbed, she lies to Shaukat that Yash has committed suicide.

Out of the guilt of Yash’s death Shaukat becomes Schizophrenic and is sent to an asylum. The movie is directed by Leena Yadav and produced by Pritish Nandy Communications. The music is composed by Vishal-Shekhar.
