Danish, played by Dhanush is a mute boy from Igatpuri and dreams of becoming a film star some day. He is so obsessed with films that one day he boards a train to Mumbai but is soon pulled down by his mother’s friend. Danish’s mother succumbs to her illness and dies, and Danish takes a train to Mumbai to fulfill his dreams. Once there he secretly enters film city and hides inside an actors vanity van and later meets assistant director Akshara Pandey, played by Akshara Hassan.
Akshara is quite impressed with Danish’s talent and on her fathers insistence go to Finland where his friend introduces them to Live Voice Transfer Technology that helps mute people speak with borrowed voices. The duo returns back to Mumbai and find a drunkard and jobless actor names Amitabh Sinha, played by Amitabh Bachchan. Having a deep voice, they decide to use it for Danish and make him sign an agreement where he is barred from disclosing the fact of using his voice.
They use Amitabh’s voice in their first project and he becomes an overnight sensation with multiple film offers and decides to name him Shamitabh. Amitabh now starts showing authority and wants to be part of the script choosing process which doesn’t go well with Danish. The hostility and friction between them keeps growing. Danish is later invited for a speech to London in Amitabh’s voice but Danish treats him badly. The duo have had enough and decide to go their separate ways. They meet again to work in Akshara’s debut film but unfortunately, Danish dies in an accident and Amitabh looses his voice. The movie is directed by R. Balki and produced by
