Sharmeelee is an Emotional-Romantic Mystery-Thriller Drama Film crafted with excellence by Samir Ganguly. The Story revolves around the life of Captain Ajit Kapoor (played by Shashi Kapoor)- A Brave Soldier who returned from warfare and attended a party of his friend- where he met with a Beautiful girl- Kamini (played by Rakhee) and fells in love with her. However, his father arranged his marriage with Kanchan- the twin sister of her and he agrees without knowing the fact- but when he comes to know- Kanchan felt heartbroken. His life gets upside down- when he comes to know one of them is a Spy.
